Estella E. “Edith” Tomlinson, 95, a longtime resident of Junction City, died Friday, Dec. 10, 1999, at Portage County Health Care Center, where she had resided since June 1996.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Martens/Kundinger Funeral Home in Junction City with the Rev. Stephen Mueller of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Runkel Cemetery in the town of Eau Pleine.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the services.
Mrs. Tomlinson was born Sept. 16, 1904, in South Bend, Ind., the daughter of Daniel and Lillian (Howard) Short. She attended school in South Bend until the eighth grade.
She was married to Jessie C. Tomlinson on Oct. 24, 1921, in Mendon, Mich. After the marriage, they began farming in Indiana and Michigan before moving to Junction City, where they continued farming. He died Nov. 1, 1973.
She worked seasonally for the Del Monte Corp., retiring after 10 years.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, St. Paul Ladies Aid and the Homemakers Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Violet Litty, Edwardsburg, Mich., and Yvonne (Ted) Hageness, Plover; two sons, Clare (Lucille), Marshfield, and Jesse H. (Ione), Plover; one sister, Vivian Filtz, New Carlisle, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, one brother, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
