Dr. Kenneth W. Konz, 69, 1801 Main St., a longtime Stevens Point optometrist, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999, at his home of cancer.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stephen Catholic Church with the Rev. Dan Kozlowski and Jim Genovesi officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Boston Funeral Home. The Serra Club and the Knights of Columbus will combine with the general rosary at 7 p.m. Sunday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Birthright or the Serra Club.
Dr. Konz was born July 9, 1930, in Racine, a son of Agnes C. Konz, Racine, and the late Gildard E. Konz.
He graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in Racine in 1948, attended Dominican College, Racine and graduated from Northern Illinois College of Optometry, Chicago, in 1954.
He was married to Dona Mae O’Connell on Nov. 24, 1955, in Chicago. She survives.
He was self-employed as an optometrist in Stevens Point since 1954.
He was president of the Serra Club in Stevens Point and treasurer of Birthright. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Stephen Parish board, 12 Apostles Muskie Club, Wisconsin Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
Other survivors include five daughters, Karen M. Konz, Plover, Mary Anne Konz, Amherst, Peggy A. (Marcus) Roho, Whittier, Calif., Patty J. Konz, Boston, Va., and Cynthia J. (Jon Roraff) Konz, Durango, Iowa; four sons, David W. (Karen), Eau Claire, Don W., Wisconsin Rapids, Daniel J. (Doreen), Polonia, and Bob P. (Deanna), New Hope, Minn.; one brother, Gerald K. (Marianne), Racine; two sisters, Diane D. Fochtman, Sterling, Va., and Judy L. (Ronnie) Miller, Cudahy; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
