Catherine A. Johnson, 77, Waupaca, mother of an Amherst Junction woman, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999, at Bethany Home in Waupaca.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Church in Baldwins Mill with the Rev. Barry Hoerz, pastor, assisted by the Rev. Jonathan Sachs, chaplain of Bethany Home, officiating. Interment will be in the Baldwins Mill Cemetery in the town of Royalton (Waupaca County).
Visitation was scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca.
Mrs. Johnson was born Aug. 8, 1922, in the town of Waupaca, a daughter of the late William O. and Hilda (Spindt) Nelson.
She was married to Richard D. Johnson on June 24, 1944, in Waupaca. He died Feb. 22, 1990.
They farmed all their married life and were active members of the Casey Lake Community Center and Baldwins Mill Community Center.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Baldwins Mill and a member of the Merry Mixers Homemakers Club for 35 years. She was a leader in the Casey Lake 4-H Club for 30 years and a leader in the Baldwins Mill 4-H Club for a few years.
Survivors include one daughter, Connie (Robert) Jastromski, Amherst Junction; one son, Donald (Linda) Johnson, Scandinavia; one brother, Kenneth (Kay) Nelson, Waupaca; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sons and one grandson.
