Robert W. Steiner, 84, Lancaster, Pa., a former Stevens Point resident, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1999, at Essa Flory Hospice Center in Lancaster.
Funeral services were Saturday in Lancaster.
Mr. Steiner was born July 23, 1915, in Stevens Point, a son of the late Herbert R. and Myrle Nancy (Young) Steiner.
He was a pilot and air combat intelligence officer on the U.S.S. Yorktown, the U.S.S. Bennington and the U.S.S. Saratoga in the Pacific Theatre of World War II. He was discharged as a lieutenant commander in 1946.
He was married to Shirley Josephine Webster.
He retired as the first president of Constitution of Canada and the Omaha Indemnity Co., two wholly owned subsidiaries of Mutual of Omaha.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Barbara Weinkauf, Bloomington, Ind., and Ann (Richard Bidgood) Steiner, Lancaster, Pa.; one son, Dr. Robert Warren Steiner Jr., La Jolla, Calif.; one brother, Dr. John H. Steiner, Waupaca; one sister, Nancy Van Dyke, Madison; five grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.
