Col. John Waters Livingston, 83, Austin, Texas, an Almond native, died Friday Dec. 3, 1999.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Fort Sam Houston Cemetery in San Antonio.
Visitation was held Monday at the Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Austin, Texas.
Mr. Livingston was born Oct. 11, 1916, in Almond.
He was married to Betty (Hathaway) Livingston on Feb. 17, 1944. She survives.
He joined the Army Air Force in 1940 and was assigned to Hickam Field, Hawaii, as a pilot, flying bombers. He participated in the Battle of Midway and later Guadalcanal.
After World War II, he was assigned to Strategic Air Command, holding staff and command positions. He last assignment was deputy chief of staff for personnel of the Pacific Air Force.
Medals he received included the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross and Purple Heart.
Survivors besides his wife include three daughters, Kathy (Paul) Gerth, Mary (Michael) Yon and Anne (Cliff) Oravec; two sisters, Jane Greene and Olive Wing; and six grandchildren.
