Rita M. Lewandowski, 84, formerly of 813 Prentice St., died Saturday afternoon, Oct. 2, 1999, at River Pines Center.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Dennis Worzalla officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home. She was a member of St. Peter’s Rosary Society Rose 34 and the National Catholic Society of Foresters, St. Hedwig Court 745, which will combine with the general rosary at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Her nephew, the Rev. James Logan, will celebrate a Mass in her honor at the Vatican in Rome on Wednesday, Oct. 6.
Mrs. Lewandowski was born July 7, 1915, in Stevens Point, a daughter of the late Bernard and Anna (Strosin) Zakrzewski.
She was married to Bernard Lewandowski on June 14, 1938, at St. Peter Church.
After their marriage, the couple settled in Stevens Point and lived at their present address for more than 50 years. He died Nov. 1, 1985.
Survivors include one son, William (Mary), Wausau; two daughters, Marcia (Lawrence) Russell, Girard, Pa., and Kathleen (Marc) Van Nuys, Beaver Creek, Ohio; one sister, Ramona Varney, Stevens Point; one brother, Gilbert (Mary Ann) Zakrzewski, Milwaukee; 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
She was also preceded in death by one son, four brothers and two sisters.
