Edna M. Wanty, 97, a Portage County native, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999, at Wisconsin Veterans Home in King.
Services were Saturday at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca with the Rev. Paul Vanden Hogen officiating.
Visitation was at the church Saturday prior to services. The Holly Funeral Home, Waupaca, assisted the family with arrangements.
A memorial has been established in her name.
Mrs. Wanty was born Sept. 2, 1902, in the town of Buena Vista, a daughter of the late George and Mary Jane (Clinton) Boushley.
She was married to Alfred C. Wanty on Sept. 24, 1919. He died July 17, 1983.
She was employed at the Wisconsin Veterans Home for many years and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church.
Survivors include six daughters, Dorothy Peskie, Almond, Norma (Merle) Schultz and Phyllis Stiebs, Waupaca; Mary (Paul) Frazer, Bowie, Md., Shirley (David) Strange, Suamico, and Marge Pryse, Neenah; four sons, Leor (Helen), Menasha, and Lloyd (Violet), Raymond (Beverly) and Richard (Arylene), all of Waupaca; 58 grandchildren; 98 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three sons, William, David and Joseph; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
