Bernice V. Vandehey, 90, 1800 Sherman Ave., Whiting, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at River Pines Center.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald Przybylski officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Evergreen Cemetery in Wausaukee.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. Tuesday at the church until the time of the services. A general rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Monday.
Mrs. Vandehey was born Sept. 22, 1909, in Wausaukee, a daughter of the late Andrew and Leah (Ferdon) Payant.
She was married to James Vandehey on June 19, 1937, in Iron Mountain, Mich.
She was employed as a music teacher in the Wittenberg School District until her retirement in 1974.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Desparte, Stevens Point, and Claire (Steve) Russell, Memphis, Tenn.; two sons, Paul (Pat), Washington, and Mark (Patty), Denver, Colo.; five brothers, Dr. Mark (Robina) Payant, Marquette, Mich., Gerald (Sally) Payant, Florida, Peter (Betty) Payant, Phoenix, Ariz., Don (Marion) Payant, Alabama, and Paul (Mickey) Payant, Menomonee, Mich.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Her husband preceded her in death.
