Ruth G. Field, 87, 3740 River Drive, Plover, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at St. Michael’s Hospital while under the care of Hospice of Portage County.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Jensen & Jinsky Funeral Home. The Revs. Diego Orsini and Dwight Anderson will officiate. Burial will be at the Plover Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until the services.
Mrs. Field was born Feb. 14, 1912, in the town of Plover, a daughter of the late Charles and Clara (Hoiness) Wherritt.
She was married to David P. Field on Jan. 23, 1929, in Stevens Point. He died in 1983.
She worked for the Plover Post Office for 20 years as a clerk and a rural mail carrier.
Survivors include two daughters, Edna (Keith) Borgen, Amherst, and Mary H. Foster, Dos Palos, Calif.; one son, John (Gloria) Field, Plover; one sister, June Korte, Wisconsin Rapids; one brother, John (Marie) Wherritt, Waterford, Mich.; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
