Meng-Wee Lim, a University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point student from Singapore, died Sunday afternoon, Sept. 12, as a result of injuries sustained from a bicycle-truck collision at the intersection of Main and Division streets on Wednesday, Sept. 8.
Visitation, with prayers, was held Monday, Sept. 13, at the Boston Funeral Home.
Mr. Lim was born July 10, 1975, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lim Chong-Poon.
He attended Temasek Polytechnic prior to enrolling at UWSP. He was in his fourth semester majoring in religious studies in preparation to enter the Buddhist priesthood, a vocation he had started working towards the last two summers when he served as a novice in a monastery in Nepal.
Survivors include his parents, two sisters, a brother and grandmother, all of Singapore.
In his memory, the flag at UW-SP flew at half-staff Monday.
