Anton J. Hoecherl, 87, 2215 Conant St., Whiting, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Stephen Catholic Church with the Rev. Dan Kozlowski officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel and on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the services at the church. There will be a Bible vigil at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Mr. Hoecherl was born Nov. 27, 1911, in New Ulm, Minn., a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Mack) Hoecherl.
He moved to Antigo with his family in 1922. In 1931 he moved to Deerbrook where he farmed with his family and drove truck.
He was married to Mary J. Rudolph at St. Mary Catholic Church in Antigo on Oct. 1, 1938. In 1940 they moved to Stevens Point.
Mr. Hoecherl worked as a truck driver for Erickson Oil Co. from 1939 until his retirement in 1977.
He was a member of Catholic Order of Foresters No. 1807.
Survivors include his wife and one sister, Marie Marshall, Deerbrook.
He was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
