Rosalie F. Rice, 58, 2832 Stanley St., died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999, under the care of Hospice of Portage County. She had fought cancer for the last 16 years.
Funeral services were held Saturday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald Przybylski officiating. Burial was in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Visitation was held Friday at Shuda Funeral Chapel. The St. Stanislaus Rosary Society, of which she was a member, and the Knights of Columbus, of which her husband and son are members, combined with the general rosary.
Mrs. Rice was born Jan. 23, 1941, in Stevens Point, a daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Ruka) Wayerski.
She graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1959.
She was married to Jerome Rice on Nov. 3, 1962, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Junction City.
She worked as a legal secretary for Bablitch & Bablitch Attorneys, which later became Bablitch & Molepske Attorneys, for 25 years.
She also ran Rosalie’s Bridal and Formal Wear from 1965 to 1996 at her residence.
She and her husband were co-chair couple for Pacelli Panacea in 1982 and 1983. She was a member of the Panacea Committee for many years and was a past president of the Mothers’ Club at Pacelli High School.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Todd, Stevens Point; two daughters, Lianne (Chris) Shulfer, Plover, and Lynn (Jeff) Parks, Neenah; five sisters, Lillian Brezinski, Milwaukee, Delores (Erv) Mews, Junction City, and Margaret (Ben) Wojtalewicz, Maryann Wojtalewicz and Theresa (Norbert) Strojny, all of Stevens Point; three brothers, Robert (Bernadine) Wayerski, Mosinee, and John (Irene) Wayerski and James (Regina) Wayerski, both of Stevens Point; and five grandchildren.
