Charles A. Spees, 76, Plainfield, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 1999, at Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.
Services were held Saturday at the Gasperic Funeral Home in Plainfield with the Rev. Paul Lippert officiating. The remains were cremated.
Mr. Spees was born June 20, 1923, in Plainfield, a son of the late Adrian and LaNola Spees.
He was a U.S. Navy pilot during World War II and the Korean War, retiring from the U.S. Navy in the 32nd Division Air Wing.
He was married to Elizabeth M. Webster on July 19, 1947, in Plainfield. She survives.
Mr. Spees was a teacher at Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids.
Besides his wife, survivors include four sons, Andrew A. (Marsha), Muscoda, Kirby J. (Sallie), Poynette, Edgar B. (Tammy) Nekoosa, and Nick C. (Carrie), Plainfield; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
