Megan Marie Hetzel, 12, 831 W. Gates Drive, died at home Tuesday morning, July 13, 1999, following a two-month hospitalization at University Hospital, Madison. She was under the care of Hospice of Portage County.
Friends may call at her home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Don Everts will officiate a memorial service starting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
The Jensen and Jinsky Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Megan was born March 15, 1987. She attended Stevens Point schools until 1998 and was a participant in the Special Needs Aquatic Program at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Survivors include her mother, Gloria Culver, Stevens Point; her father, Don Hetzel, town of Linwood; her brother, Jamie Culver, at home; maternal grandparents, Harold and Marlene Lavin, Lakeland, Fla.; and paternal grandmother, Loretta Hetzel, Amherst.
