James D.M. Wood, 49, Glendale, a former Stevens Point resident, died July 16, 1999, of heart failure at his residence.
Funeral services were held.
Mr. Wood was born Aug. 15, 1949, in Washington, D.C., a son of Caroline and Robert Wood Sr. The family lived in Oklahoma City, Okla., Jonesboro, Ark., and Athens, Ga., before setting in Stevens Point after he completed high school.
He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 1975, majoring in psychology and computer science. After graduation, he worked at UW-SP before moving to Madison, Milwaukee and then Glendale.
He was married to the former Naomi Kampschoer in 1977.
He was a senior staff analyst for CompuPros Inc. and had been assigned to Deluxe Data Systems in Glendale since 1998. He was on the board of examiners for Wisconsin Forward Award.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, James and Benjamin, both of Glendale; his mother, Stevens Point; and one brother, Robert, Stevens Point.
