Esther C. Rothman, 87, of the River Pines Center, died there early Sunday morning, July 25, 1999.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. David Maxfield will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Boston Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Memorials will be established in her name.
Mrs. Rothman was born Nov. 6, 1911, in Stevens Point, to the late Carl and Camille Sorenson. She graduated from Emerson High School in 1928. She attended Central State Teachers College, graduating in 1932 with a degree in home economics.
She was married to Richard Burr Rothman on Dec. 24, 1938, in Stevens Point. He preceded her in death April 17, 1987.
Mrs. Rothman moved with her husband to Evanston, Ill., in 1939, returning to Stevens Point in 1944. In the 1950s and early 1960s, she was a church secretary for Trinity Lutheran Church. In the 1960s, she worked for the Selective Service Board in Stevens Point.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a past president of the church Ladies Aid. She was a member and a past officer of the Progress Club. She enjoyed playing golf, camping, traveling and reading.
Survivors include one daughter, Karen Marie Ardner, Naples, Fla.; two sons, Richard Burr (Sharon) Rothman Jr., Stevens Point, and Robert Soren (Donna) Rothman, Dayton, Ohio; and six grandchildren.
Besides her husband, one sister preceded her in death.
