Alvita J. “Ellie” Holman, 70, 3309 Dan’s Drive, died Wednesday, July 28, 1999, at St., Michael’s Hospital while under the care of her daughter and the Hospice of Portage County for cancer.
Services were held Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday with the Rev. Alan Burkhardt officiating. Visitation was held at the church’s Family Center on Monday prior to services.
The Shuda Funeral Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
Memorials in her name have been established for the Hospice of Portage County and St. Joseph Church.
Mrs. Holman was born Feb. 7, 1929, in Streator, Ill., a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Kosley) Svetz.
She was married to Paul Holman and they later divorced.
Mrs. Holman lived in Stevens Point for 25 years, working for Al-Chroma Co. and most recently with Family Planning Health Services.
Survivors include one daughter, Pamela, Stevens Point, and one sister, Jean Ralph, Streator, Ill.
